Thanks to this year's SWAL Conference, the Boscobel Library Staff got to tour the features of some amazing digital tools. including this one.

Our Library Wiki will be used collaboratively to link to information sources of interest to the Boscobel Community, our visitors and folks in the surrounding area. We'd like to build a Current Events page, Youth and Teens Page, and let everyone know whats News @ Your Library !

This is a collaborative tool, so if you'd like to help, give us a call 375-5723, email rorlandi@swls.org or stop by the library and let us know.
We've recently learned (Thanks to Virginia and Carole!) that our library was designed by the Prairie School architectural firm of Claude and Starck. The firm was responsible for the design of 63 Carnegie public libraries in Wisconsin. The construction of Carnegie public and academic libraries throughout the midwest was funded through the generosity of the industrialist Andrew Carnegie, to promote literacy. While construction of the Boscobel Library in 1926 was enabled by a gift from local businessman George F. Hildebrand, our library also shares the proud architectural history of the Claude and Starck Carnegies.
To learn more you can take a look at an online postcard gallery of these libraries at http://home.comcast.net/~jaulik/carnwi.html , or read about Claude and Starck's work at http://www.madisonmagazine.com/article.php?story_id=152147&xstate=view_story
Here's a new tool that allows us to create library podcasts, that is, voice recordings that contain the latests news, events and information about your library. We hope to be able to answer your FAQ's (frequently asked questions) here and also broadcast events and provide tutorials to help you take advantage of the world of services available @ your library!
